A Website Needs to Show the Work
The RitesDev website is for a business, so I want it to do more than explain who I am.
People should be able to understand what I can help with and see the kinds of projects that connect to my work. That pushes me to give services and portfolio information their own place on the site, as well as a place for my other projects.
Separate pages, connected story
Services and projects answer different questions. A services page can explain the kinds of work I offer. A portfolio page can show examples and give those descriptions some context.
They still need to feel like parts of the same website. The wording, navigation, and visual design should help a visitor move between them without wondering whether they’ve ended up somewhere else.
Make the site useful to someone new
I know my own work already, so it’s easy to assume that a project description is clear. Putting the information on the site makes me check that assumption.
I want a visitor to get a useful first impression, even if they haven’t talked to me yet. That’s the job these pages start to do.
