Traffic statistics privacy

Blog uses the same RitesDev optional traffic statistics preference and protections. Statistics default to off; ignoring or rejecting the choice leaves Blog available. Use the persistent Privacy choices tab, including on the Blog home page, to allow or reject statistics.

The shared traffic statistics privacy notice explains consented IP and approximate region records, visit times in UTC, and page pathnames with query strings and fragments excluded. These records support private page-traffic summaries and visit details grouped by retained IP address across RitesDev and Blog. They contain no user-agent strings or referrers and are not used to track other websites or build personal profiles.

The expanded notice requires a new Allow choice; an Allow choice under the previous notice no longer authorizes collection, while a previous Reject choice stays rejected. The shared notice also covers protected IP-group numbers, seven-day maximum retention, the separate 180-day preference cookie, withdrawal, reference request totals, infrastructure processing, and privacy requests. Contact [email protected] for access or deletion requests. Rejecting statistics stops future eligibility but does not automatically identify or delete earlier shared-IP records.
