A Contact Form Needs Somewhere to Put the Message

A contact form is only useful if a message has somewhere to go after someone submits it.

I build the inquiry flow behind the RitesDev site so submissions go to a local Inquiry Manager. That gives me a way to keep track of conversations instead of treating the form as a decorative page element. 🫠

There is more to it than a submit button

The site needs to check that the required information is present and store it somewhere appropriate. I also think about things like malformed input, safe file handling, and limiting repeated requests.

These aren’t the most visible parts of a website, but they’re part of making a feature dependable.

A useful connection between apps

The public site and the local management app have different jobs. The site receives the inquiry; the manager gives me a way to review and update requests.
