Writing Down How the Ecosystem Works

RitesDev grows from one website into a project with multiple sites, shared content, local management apps, and a hosting setup.

I know how the pieces fit together right now, but that’s not always enough. If I come back to a part of the project later, I don’t want to have to rediscover every rule from scratch.

Documentation is part of building

I write down how site folders become routes, where editable content lives, how the local apps are discovered, and which ports are used for development and hosting.

That kind of documentation isn’t as visible as a new page, but it helps me make changes without breaking something in another part of the system.

Make future work easier

The goal isn’t to document every line of code. It’s to capture the relationships and conventions that are easy to forget and expensive to guess wrong.

I don’t set out to build an ecosystem when I start the website. Now the project grows into one, and I need to give myself a map.
