Why I Picked Astro for RitesDev
I’m building the RitesDev website with Astro, partly because it’s a tool I already know.
That familiarity matters when I’m also figuring out the design, writing the page content, choosing what the site needs, and trying to get it online. I don’t want every part of the project to be a brand-new learning curve at the same time.
A framework that leaves me room
I like that Astro gives me a clear way to organize pages and components while still letting me decide how the site should work. I can build the pieces I need rather than trying to fit RitesDev into a template that makes all the choices for me.
That flexibility does mean I have to make more decisions myself. Sometimes I enjoy that. Sometimes I have to stop and work out whether I’m solving an actual problem or just adding another layer because I can.
The tool isn’t the whole project
Picking Astro gets me started, but it doesn’t decide what RitesDev should say or how someone should use the website. Those parts are still on me.
For this project, that feels like a good trade. I have a familiar foundation, and I can keep adjusting the site as the idea becomes more concrete.
